Just drop in for this all-ages printmaking workshop inspired by the masterwork Japanese woodblock prints in Hiroshige's Tōkaidō Road
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be? What would it look like? Would there be buildings and people? Animals and trees? Take a journey through 53 views of Japan’s southern coastal highway in the exhibition Hiroshige’s Tōkaidō Road. Created using Japanese wood blocks, these 19th century prints captured the landscapes, towns, people, and souvenirs along the route. Replicate the style and process of a wood block print using scratch foam. Our teaching artists will guide you to create a series of small prints about your favorite journey.
